The University of Michigan DMACS: Detroit Metro Area Communities Study

DMACS is the reliable source for timely and relevant public opinion data in a changing Detroit.

Since 2016, DMACS has collected, analyzed, and disseminated timely public opinion data from a large, representative panel of Detroiters to help capture their opinions and ensure they are heard by those shaping the policies and future of Detroit.

In 2022, funding from the National Institutes of Health allowed us to expand our public opinion data collection efforts to additional Michigan communities under the name Michigan Metro Area Communities Study. To date we have conducted surveys in Flint, Ypsilanti and Grand Rapids.
